Just wanted to offer a quick shout out to our friend Sammy, the red longhair dachshund. Along with Gracie, he recently celebrated an adopt-a-versary. What I like a lot about Sammy is his length. He just seems so long. Have you ever noticed that some dachshunds appear longer than others?! For comparison – above is Sammy and below is Rufus, how does your wiener dog measure up?!

Our friend Gracie is a darling doxie filled with lots of appreciation for life, and as a rescue we can certainly understand her enthusiasm. Someone’s discarded trash is now our treasure. Gracie is a fun dachshund to photograph. Her range of expressions seem limitless especially when cheese is around. Happy Adopt-a-versary Gracie! You’re a doll of doxie and we’re thrilled you continue to thrive in your forever home. What a difference a little attention and love makes in dog’s life.

It’s Lily. Lily is about 8 months now and she continues to be a cute, small and rambunctious dachshund. She also has that look of “wanting” down like a true doxie pro. In today’s featured photos, I’m reminded of the fame Oliver Twist line, “Please Sir, I want some more.” Does your dachshund do the same to you?!

A DOGS friend and fan graciously donated an Allen Designs “Oscar” Dachshund Clock. We personally have this clock proudly displayed in our kitchen and can’t wait to give this one away to a fellow doxie-holic. Keeping it real simple and easy, raffle tickets are $1 per ticket with no minimum or maximum limits. You can get your tickets by making a Paypal donation here. Since we’re having this last-minute impromptu raffle, we’ll also give away a DOGS T-shirt, book and watch to add to the fun. It’s the calm after the storm. Christmas has come and gone and now we rest and relax as we prepare for the New Year. Unlike other parts of the country, it’s warm and sunny in Southern California – perfect doxie sunbathing weather. Make it a great day friends.

Rufus continues to patiently wait for Santa’s arrival. Unlike the other two, he knows exactly what to expect and can’t wait to tear into those beautifully wrapped boxes. I’m pretty certain he is less concerned with what’s inside and is more eager to enjoy the act of shredding the paper and boxes. Does your dachshund enjoy opening presents?!
