Just wanted to offer a quick shout out to our friend Sammy, the red longhair dachshund. Along with Gracie, he recently celebrated an adopt-a-versary. What I like a lot about Sammy is his length. He just seems so long. Have you ever noticed that some dachshunds appear longer than others?! For comparison – above is Sammy and below is Rufus, how does your wiener dog measure up?!

I love his mouth & the cute expression!!
Also, yes, some are longer than others. My Dori is exceptionally long compared to Frieda & most over doxies I know. In fact, she is so long, she has a problem trying to swim, she can’t stay upright & tips over. But amazingly, she has the strongest fascia & muscle tone & likely will newer have disc issues per my holistic vet. Yet Frieda who is shorter in comparison & has very long legs for a doxie & springs in the air like a kangaroo has weak fascia & muscle tone & her neck & thoracic/lumbar disc goes out of adjustment frequently. We are taking her for swim therapy, massage & Fit Paws once a week & after 4 sessions the difference in her muscle tone is phenomenal!! Fingers crossed!!
