Our hounds love some good tail waggin trails. Keeping them chow hounds fit and lean is a priority for us, and a good, long hike helps us to meet that ambition. We also find that a tired dachshund is often a good dachshund; they may be little but they got lots of energy to burn! Right friends?!? How do you keep them lean and tired??? Enjoy the photos.

It’s a distinctively dachshund trait to find those big, bright eyes looking up at the table around dinner time. We made some delicious chicken pot pie this evening and, Milo and Emily were both very interested in a helping for themselves. It was like a scene from Oliver Twist, “Please Sir, I want some more!?” Enjoy the photos friends, and let’s us know if this too is a common scene at your home.

After three years apart, Milo is back in the pack. He and his human have returned to our lives and Southern California after a stint on the east coast. 30 of 366 Pack love

As February quickly approaches, the month of love, I’m reminded of the many different kinds of love that exist. Like sibling love, or as I prefer to call it, pack love. Rufus was a lone dachshund for 7 years and then there was Emily Sue. And for two wonderful years it was a pack of two, and the affection between them was so sweet to witness. It was a real affirmation for me that getting a second dachshund, was the right decision for Rufus and our family / pack.

I have been asked to contribute something to a forthcoming Valentine’s Day art exhibit and although I remain undecided, what do think friends!?? Are these images sweet enough for Valentine’s inspired art exhibit?!?? They certainly tug at my heart strings, but what you do think?!?! Let me know.
