Our hounds love some good tail waggin trails. Keeping them chow hounds fit and lean is a priority for us, and a good, long hike helps us to meet that ambition. We also find that a tired dachshund is often a good dachshund; they may be little but they got lots of energy to burn! Right friends?!? How do you keep them lean and tired??? Enjoy the photos.

we try to get in as much off leash trail walking as we can. Dori is in slow motion when on leash so we seek out those opportunities to safely walk them off leash. Not a fan of dog parks unless it is a specific dachshund meet up or is in the small/shy off easy area. You just never know if someone’s much too large & exuberant or aggressive dog ( along with clueless owner) might be there. I am so envious of your walk today, it is cold & rainy & cloudy up here in Seattle, I am walking in my heavy jacket, I noticed you were in a light weight jacket & the sun was shining! Looks like you had a great day!
Awe. Well hopefully y’all be back out there walking again soon. In the meantime you can live vicariously through our adventures. It was a great day! 🙂
we love walking our dachshunds
