Lily ask, “is it Monday morning already!?” To which we must all say yes. But luckily for Lily, Monday is really no different than any other day when you’re a dachshund. Nonetheless, hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and we wish all a magnificent week ahead.

I like taking the mundane and making it more interesting or entertaining. I assert life is best enjoyed when care is given to the details. Mealtime with dachshunds is certainly amusing on its own – as our chow hounds typically race at lightening speed to devour their kibble. Dinning for dachshunds is such a central part of their lives that one might as well make it special with personalize bowls so that’s exactly what I did. To get yours visit our friend Dylan Kendall.

Walking on the beach is a such good exercise for our dachshunds. The resistance the sand offers our long-bodied hot dogs is great for working the leg and back muscles, but safer than trudging up steep inclines or doing stairs. It’s also a nice alternate between hiking and neighborhood trots. Keeping our wiener dogs lean is instrumental in keeping them healthy and happy.

After a few days away we’re back. It’s a new day and a new week filled with lots of wonderful possibilities. I hope y’all aren’t growing tired of these beach pictures because we’re certainly not getting tired of sharing them. If you’re at a desk and wishing you were somewhere else, close your eyes and imagine (like Walter Mitty might) that you’re there on the beach with us enjoying the sun, sand and surf. Wednesday we showed visiting friends our favorite beach, but Tuesday Rufus and I showed another out-of-towner friend our favorite hiking trail: Shelf Road. I think these photos are especially sweet because in the top photo you see Rufus getting a kiss and in the bottom one Rufus has a big grin. I imagine the smirk is a result of his recent kiss from a pretty lady. I really enjoy and appreciate those friendships by folks who genuinely try to include my dachshunds. On both Tuesday and Wednesday, our friends were super dachshund friendly in our local excursions and that meant a lot to me.

We love our city and we love it even more when we’re able to share it with our friends. We have some friends visiting from out-of-town, and it’s been fun showing them some of our favorite hangouts. These are from yesterday. Have a wonderful day.
