I absolutely adore this series of photos featuring Rufus from last Sunday’s meetup. Rufus is always very curious about the canines on the big dogs‘ side. This particular dog from the other side looked very much like wolf or coyote hybrid, and watching him and Rufus make contact was priceless. What do you think friends!? It’d be fun to know what they were thinking in this moment.

This past Sunday was our LA Doxies’ monthly meetup. It was a great day with lots of fun with friends from all over the greater Southern California area. We continue to share pictures from our monthly meetups for a few reasons.
First, we want to invite friends in the area to join us. If you’re ever in nearby on the third Sunday of the month, join us! All dachshunds, small dog dachshund-friendly canines and their humans are welcome. (The second Sunday of the month is Ojai Doxies‘ monthly meetup.)
Second, if you’re not in the area, we want to inspire you to find a meetup group in your part of the world. AND if you can’t find one, consider starting your very own! Look at all the fun. Proof is in the pictures. So many happy hounds and their humans.

Last Sunday we got a chance to hang with one of our favorite longhair hounds: Sassy Sophie. She’s a real looker, isn’t she?! As you can imagine, I love to photograph this beauty and she has been featured on past T-shirt campaigns, two gallery showings and is currently part of our notecard box set. Wishing all of our friends a very Happy Mother’s Day!!! We especially want to acknowledge all the moms of the four-legged variety. It takes a special kind of person to be a mom (and dad) to our cute, cuddly canines, and today we include you among all those mothers being honored.
Since we could not be with our mom today, we celebrated the occasion with our dachshund friends at a local dog park. It was a great time with some cool folks. Proof is in the pictures.

My chow hounds are always hungry. When they’re not lying next to us on the couch or bed, they’re right under foot in the kitchen or at the dinner table. Always the optimist, they patiently wait for anything to fall. And in the event that something does, we never have to worry about cleaning it up. Nope. They’re also affectionately known as the cleanup crew. We can’t imagine what it must be like for households that don’t have a dachshund (or dog). Ha!
