There are a lot of things I love about our monthly meetups. At our last meet it was truly a family affair. Many folks were in attendance with extended family – mother and son; mother-in-law and daughter-in-law; husbands and wives; mom, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, etc. I think it is really sweet to see the different generations of dachshund lovers come together for an afternoon dedicated to our low-riding hounds. It really warms the heart.

Additionally, at this meetup we had two non-dachshunds among the group, and I think it was great for our wiener dogs’ overall continued development and socialization. Yes, our hot dogs like hanging around other sausage links, but it’s good for them to experience other breeds as the occasion arises. I love the meets and recommend you attend one in your area.
