Today’s post illustrates why a dachshund puppy needs another young at heart doxie to be her playmate OR a very active human. Doxie puppies love to eat, sleep and play. The eat and sleep part are easy, but can you handle the doxie play portion of raising little Lily?! Paws and tails cross hoping Lily’s perfect permanent placement comes soon – not for me because we’re enjoying her a lot and she’s welcome for as long as it takes, but… for them, because they’re missing some of the best moments. These precious puppy memories are simply priceless.

Love the photos but your first and last, my little Niko (the younger twin) does both of those things with his twin brother Mookie, I know they are playing the last one but sometimes I do worry that Mookie will get tired of having his leg chewed on
Emily is a very good mentor! 🙂
Your photos brings a smile to my face and joy in my heart. We lost our doxie a few months ago and are still heartbroken. Wish we were ready to adopt another one. Lily, looks so precious. Thanks for sharing.
Awe. Thanks for the kinds words. No rush, you’ll find the right doxie when the timing is right. 🙂
When the older Doxie has enough it will remind Lily who is in charge. Dogs need other dogs that understand them. Doxies prefer other Doxies.
She would make a great playmate for my older doxie Max…He loves dogs who are just his size and look like him…

After grieving for over 3 yrs. after losing our Casey, beloved Angel-dog, I think I am ready to consider a rescue (again, as was the one prior to Casey!).. They DO hold your heart for years after losing them.. Could you tell me your location (email is fine) and whether we could set up a visit when we’ll both be in So.Calif. in late August (week prior to Labor Day). Lily looks very promising, even tho I told myself : this time I’m getting a black and tan no matter what!! (and lost my heart to two red mini’s in a row! ! (so Emily better watch out, or you better watch us with Emily!! LOL). Thanks,
We at ROTW are NOT overseeing Lily’s permanent placement. All adoption inquiries need to be directed to Dachshund Rescue and Placement at http://www.doxykeeper.net/ thank you!
