What I liked most about this particular gathering of 26 happy hounds and their humans, was the Senior Dachshunds Get Along Gang (pictured below). I love seeing older hot dogs thriving. I believe to love a dachshund (and dogs in general) through their senior years is a beautiful expression of love and commitment. Don’t you agree??! When it might be easier to abandon them, we rally and rise to the occasion. Or at least that how it is in our pack.
Rufus will be 14 in August, and was diagnosed with Stage 1 Kidney disease in February this year. We’ve changed his diet and these last 6 months have had their challenges with some cognitive disorientation, but we made a commitment to him that’s for life – no matter how long or short that may be, and we won’t waiver.
Love them and hug them for as long you got them friends. ❤ ❤ ❤ That’s our motto.
