Yesterday we had a play date with one of our oldest dachshund friends: Benny. We don’t see much of him these days since his humans had a child a few years ago, but each time he and Rufus get together it’s like no time has passed. I was especially excited about the play date because I wanted Lily and Emily to get some added socialization around small children. There were two small children at our last meetup, and they did pretty good so I wanted to capitalize on that experience. I’m proud to report Lily and Emily did great. They weren’t as great as Rufus, but there was less barking and a lot more patience – which made me smile big. Dont’ forget dachshund friends, socialization, socialization and more socialization. Your dachshund can never have too much socialization. Have a wonderful day!
