We just celebrated Emily’s first birthday, but before there was Emily there was Milo. Milo and Rufus are best buds. Milo was such a precious pup. Proof is in the pictures. Happy Monday.

Today our little doxie turns one and it’s nothing short of a miracle. It’s hard to imagine that our little girl was born on Nov. 25, 2011 and then the very next day Emily along with her litter mates and mom were abandoned. Emily Sue came to me with giardia and a super shy disposition. Today she’s a healthy dachshund growing into her own personality. She remains a little shy, but each day she seems to be bolder and braver. She definitely one of the sweetest doxies I have ever known. I’m just smitten by our little girl and someone’s trash is now our treasure.

Continuing the week-long celebration of one rescue doxies’ happily ever after, it’s Emily Sue. I never grow tired of photographing our Emmy. I love her big, bright round eyes, and in her gold star shirt, she just melts my heart. She is my shining star.

Introducing Sampson the stunningly beautiful longhair dachshund and Mindy rambunctious bowlegged smooth red. Sampson was an owner surrender to the shelter because he was supposedly diagnosed with cancer, and his last family wasn’t prepared to care for him. However, the current rescue is waiting for blood work to confirm his diagnosis. Both dachshunds seemed well socialized, playful and full of life at the muddy dog park Monday. This weekend we got to see our friend Kaia, the adorable smooth black and tan dachshund that underwent back surgery earlier this year. Before I got Emily, I would host Kaia for play dates to prepare Rufus and Milo for what it would be like to have a female dachshund around. Kaia is near and dear to our hearts and her story was heartbreaking when her back legs went out one unassuming afternoon. Kaia’s recovery has been slow, but she shows progress weekly. We’re so proud of her and her family. Unfortunately Kaia’s continued rehabilitation has been costly for her family and Emily wants to help her friend. On Sunday, Nov. 25 during Emily’s birthday bash in Hollywood we will be raffling off some wonderful prizes – including a 32 inch flat screen TV, to help offset some of Kaia’s expenses. Emily Sue is turning 1 on Sunday, Nov. 25 and to celebrate the occasion we’re having a party in Hollywood. This precious rescue doxie (along with her litter mates and mom) was surrendered one day after she was born. Reaching her first birthday is certainly cause to celebrate. My darling doxie has blossomed from a little chubby cherub to a full fledged dachshund. In people years Emily is 18, and she is my little princess.
