Earlier this week we showcased Rufus in his badass faux-leather bomber jacket with hood. Well today is the girls‘ turn. We have Emily in her popping hot-pink peacoat, and Lily is her own badass faux-leather bomber jacket with pink hood (for that touch of femininity).

What we enjoy about these coats (for all of our hound friends fighting to keep warm and dry this season) is the flattering fit and protection it offers to their undercarriage. We often recommend outerwear that covers their big barrel chests. Some versions of outerwear have a single strap underneath – which is easy to put on and easier to fit a variety of shapes, but… our low-riding hounds need that extra coverage down low – otherwise, what’s point?! Yes, coverage on top is good but our hot dogs are low to the ground, mud and damp – which is what we want to protect them from, right?!?

Finding outerwear that fits and protects our handsome hound is a challenge, but if you make a list of what’s important to you, it’ll help when you’re shopping. Good luck friends, and let us know if you have a favorite brand or retailer that you like for our darling dachshunds.
