We have no human children, but I really like that my mom makes an effort to be affectionate with our furkids. In our mind she’s their grandma, and although my mom is not an extreme dog personality (like myself) she appreciates how much they mean to us. Besides, my baby brother has done well to give her 5 human grandkids so… I think in many ways she likes the change of pace when she visits us. And when she’s here, she does her best to be doting with her grandpups and that makes us happy. Mom even joined us for our dachshund monthly meetup this past Sunday and got to meet some of our wonderful friends. Our dogs are not simply pets, but members of the family and we treat them as such in our home and expect those that visit to do the same. Thankfully, my mom does it happily.
