I adore these photos of our dachshunds swimming. Their big round eyes are focused on two things; getting to the other side and getting out of the water. They’re not water dogs, but they can swim and it’s sweet to see it in person. What do you think dachshund friends, do you take yours swimming??!

  1. NO MAYA HATES WATER AND EVEN WHEN WE ARE GIVING HER A BATH SHE RUNS AND HIDS

  2. Great photos! I’ve never seen Alfie swim but I know that our first Dachshund, Izzi, used to veer to one side! It was safe to say that she wasn’t a fan, haha!

  3. They are so cute swimming. My little dog does not like the water. She is a Jack Russell mix. Love them all, esp. Rufus!!

one of mine hates the water but since she has been going to Swim Therapy for her neck & back she is not hating it so much & is turning out to be an amazing swimmer. the other one likes the water but because of her exceptionally long body her balance is not the greatest & she tends to roll over. I plan to take her to Swim Therapy to work on that!!

  5. They are all so cute!! Rufus is focusing on getting out. When is his birthday!!

They have webbed feet why aren’t they water dogs? I did have one years ago that loved the water by the way, mainly because he loved to pursue mallard ducks that lived in the area.
