Our little friend Lenny, the chocolate dachshund, needs our help. Lenny was rescued about 2 years ago. His checkered past in unknown, but he arrived at his forever family pretty pitiful and disheveled. But like many rescues, after some tender love and care, he began to look much better. Today during emergency surgery the 12 pound dachshund had a 1 pound 13 ounce tumor removed, in addition to his tumor riddled spleen. These next 24 hours are critical for Lenny. His doctor explained that many of the blood vessels shared by the stomach (and spleen) have been compromised. We’re hopeful his little body will form new pathways for the blood to get to the stomach. When we last heard, he was resting comfortably. Lenny’s humans and pack mate Laci anxiously await tomorrow morning’s phone call and the next update. Lenny’s surgery and medication is estimated to be at minimum $4,000 – which does not account for any post-surgical treatment or rehab. The expense is significant for Lenny’s family and they’re asking for our community’s help. No donation is too small and every dollar is appreciated by Lenny and his family. If you can help, please consider donating. The Lenny Fund A Pet Miracle site does take 3% as an administrative fee so if you prefer, you can donate directly via Lenny’s own Paypal Account both options are available to you. Many thanks in advance for the consideration. If you can’t donate, please share his story in hopes that others might. Hug your darling dachshunds tight and let’s all send Lenny lots of positive healing thoughts.

Sending healing thoughts and prayers to Lenny, his family and pack mate Laci. This is quite a big surgery for such a little guy, please keep us updated!!
Will do. 🙂
I cannot afford to help you, our Dashund Duke had to have back surgery and I know all to well how expensive surgery is for our furever family members. I am struggling to pay off his five thousand dollar bill, but I just wanted to let you know you will be in my prayers and get wishes for Lenny.
Thank you! Those positive healing thoughts are just as equally appreciated. Thank you!! 🙂
Alberta…I will say prayers that Duke has a full recovery. A dear friend went through this with her doxie, Velvet, a few years ago. It took quite some time but she is doing well. Blessings…Joy
I’m not working right now, but I wish I could help. I lost my Casper ( a red dachshund) almost a year ago, he was14. he was my baby and I still miss him like crazy.. But I will send my prayers that your Lenny will have a fast recovery.
I will say prayers for little Lenny. I wish that I could help but our grandkids are in danger and there is nothing we can do. I hope that precious Lenny will be okay. God Bless
Can you please repost PayPal link – doesn’t seem to be working – would prefer Lenny’s family get full amount – Thanks
The Fund a Pet Miracle has not worked well at all 😦 I’m hoping the PayPal account was inundated with $$$ – if there is a Facebook account would really appreciate information. Thank you for sharing this
It has been several months and I don’t recall hearing an update. Do you know how he’s doing?
Last time we heard Lenny was doing fine. We saw him at our art exhibit and he was very much a happy-go-lucky dachshund. I think the family is just taking it one day at a time and hoping for the best. No new updates to speak of but will update when we know something. We plan to see them in October. 🙂
