The Rufus celebration continues, as his 9th birthday is only 3 days away. Looking back it has been an amazing ride together. I know with human children parents are generally careful about expressing their favorite when they have more than one, and I love Emily Sue very much – but Rufus is my favorite. Our bond is strong and special. Emily is a real close second and I think over time she’ll be equal to Rufus, but right now my boy stands in a class all his own for me. To honor Rufus and the charity he inspired take advantage of the limited-time promo on his book – 102 Dachshunds (get your autographed copy today if you haven’t already) or simply make any tax-deductible donation you choose by clicking here. All donations $15 and more will receive a personalize photo card as our sincere thanks featuring an original ROTW image. I love this doxie!

I am so glad to have found you here. For a little over a year I have been a “Doxie Mom. My husband, who is a dog enthusiast, has said that thanks to the Doxie I am now a recovering Poodle Snob. For years I was a breeder of Toy Poodles. And I was crazy about them. They’re intelligent, easy to train, attentive, beautiful to look at and make fabulous pets. Our Ginger, a three pound tiny Toy Poodle, has served me well these past seven years, alerting me to impending asthma attacks and insulin highs and lows. Cinnamon, the newest addition to our family, is a smooth, red, Mini-Doxie and the doggie love of my life. And, I literally fell in love with her. That is not something I expected to have happen. I have never had an emotional response that strong to a dog before. It’s good to know that I am not alone.
