I’m a huge advocate of showing our doxies the world outside of our private homes, and this Memorial Day weekend I introduced Emily Sue to Lake Arrowhead. This was Emily’s first boat ride and with Rufus, a lake veteran, by her side she quickly got comfortable on the water.

they are just beautiful!! and I know my 2 winer dogs girls love to explore places away from their home!!
It’s good to get our doxies out. They love it, people love seeing them and the experiences make them happier and more balance pups. Thanks for posting.
And isn’t it fun to watch them see something new for the first time. 🙂
Soooo cute!! My girls love to get out and explore too. Lainey Lu loves to swim….she’s in heaven wherever there is water 🙂
I love Emily’s green collar with the bow…where might I find one like that??
Thanks Jill! http://www.luxemutt.com/ and you can find them at certain Pet Boutiques like Pussy & Pooch (downtown LA). They have lots of colors (online) and I think they’re simply adorable. 🙂 If you buy online tell them Johnny, Rufus & Emily sent you. We’ve become fast friends. ❤
Cool thanks!! I check up on Rufus and Emily daily…..love all your adventures! I’m in AZ so I’ll look online. Thanks!! Keep up the Doxie Adventures!
Thank you! Will do. 🙂 Have a great day.
They’re both so cute! 🙂 On the pic you posted on Facebook today it looks as if Emily had longer legs than Rufus – Emily Sue, Supermodel! 😉
Good eye. Yes, Emily is a taller doxie than Rufus (I think). Rufus has short legs and Emily’s seem a little a longer / taller. Definitely a supermodel in training. Thanks for noticing and sharing.
Gretchen is a city girl so when I moved to Pensacola, FL she got to see many new things. The first time she got close to a horse they both froze! The horse very sloooowly lowered it’s head as Gretchen’s ears went back. If a bird chirped at that moment they would have both freaked out. The horse sniffed the top of Gretchen’s head and everything was cool. Gretchen used to wander into the pasture by this horse which scared me because horses sometimes kick dogs. She chases lizards that are in the garden to the point that I have to take her in for a break. The day we moved to the city the neighbors had two large ducks outside. Gretchen had never seen a duck and she was trying to dig through the car window to get at them! She is safer in the city I think.
