With the holiday gift giving season fast approaching I’ll be featuring some of my favorite finds in the weeks ahead. Keeping our low-riding wiener dogs clean can be a tough task, especially as we enter that part of the year generally filled with rain and snow. When your legs are only a few inches from the ground, it’s a challenge to keep dry and clean. So today’s product is near and dear to my heart as a cleaned obsessed human. Like many dachshund humans we love to have our doxies with us everywhere – the couch, the bed, the car and our in laps. I’m constantly wiping Rufus and Emily down after our hikes and regularly bathing them; it’s just par for the course when living with doxies. However, I’m always mindful of the shampoo I use. We decided to make it a Bella Blu weekend. This darling dachshund along with a dozen others looking for their forever home will be at Healthy Spot West Hollywood dachshund adoption event today from 11 to 3. If you’re local to the area, consider stopping by. Whether you’re looking to expand the pack or just want to say hi, all are welcome.

The adorable 2-year-old smooth black and tan dapple dachshund named Bella Blu needs to be re-homed. Life circumstances change and Bella’s human has made the tough choice to give Bella to a new home where she’ll receive the attention, care, love and quality of life she deserves. The energetic tweenie, at 14 pounds, loves to play fetch; she knows some basic commands, she is potty trained and she is current with her shots. Her dapple markings are very distinct and she is very friendly with other dogs and humans. She is being fostered in West Hollywood until her forever home is found. Her adoption is being overseen by Southern California Dachshund Relief. Interested folks should complete an application online. Please feel free to share with others. Meet Percy the black and tan standard longhair dachshund and Fernando the black and tan smooth miniature dachshund. Both are rescues searching for their forever home. Ferdy actually has a broken leg and is in need of surgery and the funds to move forward with the procedure. Although he seemed perfectly agile when we met, the x-rays reveal something entirely different. Poor little man. Dogway Rescue Society (in Mission, British Columbia) is overseeing Percy’s adoption while Maggie Ferguson of Dog’s Perfect Pastures is overseeing Ferdy’s adoption.
