As previously shared, Emily loves to roll in the dirt. I captured these photos in October after a good rolling and she look a little like a dapple thanks to the strategic placement of dirt (all her doing). What I find particularly amusing – which is why I’m sharing the bottom photo – is it would fine if Emily rolled in the dirt and then dusted herself off before coming inside, but no. Emily will roll in it and then come immediately inside and go to her crate or bed. Sigh. Dirt and all, I love my Emily and consider her one of the sweetest dachshunds around these parts. Life with dachshunds is always entertaining. Have a wonderful day doxie friends.

Emily is adorable as a dapple (albeit a “dirt dapple” 🙂 One thing I love about dachshunds is that they each have their own personalities and little “quirks: that make them so endearing. My late dachshund, Angel, used to l,ove her squeaky toys. The only problem was that, as soon as she got a new one, she became obessed and wouldn’t quit squeaking it until the squeaker fell out LOL. Then she would get this look as if thinking , “Why isn’t it squeaking anymore?”. A happy weekend to all and stay healthy, there is a nasty flu going around 😦
Miss Emily! Only Emily would roll and then take a nap with everything on her. My Gretchen sometimes rolls but she always shakes out. Emily was apparently looking for a new style and
found one that she liked. LOL Doxies are creative and sassy and that is what I love about them.
My senior Gretchen is a great bug killer! This part of FL has bugs like you wouldn’t believe! Last night she was after a huge bug. She grabbed it, bit down on it and then graabed and bit again. This bug took off with Gretchen right after it. She ran back to where she caught it and followed the trail. Where ever it is the bug is injured but she keeps sniffing. She also brings me lizards that she played with!
I love your photos. Your doxies are so special. I’m so glad they have such a loving home!!!
awwwwwww
Emily is just so sweet and loves the world around her! Our Longhair girl loves to roll in leaves…if they are damp she likes it even more! Then of course, she loves to bring them inside to decorate the house with! 😉
now emily looks like my old dapple (one of the first..and the best), marbles. see you sunday. xoxosusie
I rescued Snoody, a male dapple and he is by far the best dog I’ve ever had. I also have a red mini Gracie who fell in love with Snoody.
They are the best. They rescued me!
