It is with great sadness that we must inform our friends and fans that Sandy Valentina Jacobson was humanely euthanized Tuesday. About two weeks ago Sandy was diagnosed with adrenal cancer. She stopped eating and was getting tremendously frail according to her family.
My heart is heavy today, and each time I hear of another doxie friend passing (and it seems like there has been several this year) my heart aches for the family. I spent the night looking through old pictures of Sandy and remembering our time together. Sandy was a sweet dachshund when in my care and she’ll be missed.
Sandy was 14; she is survived by her pack mates: Oscar and PJ.
If any fan, friend or fellow-doxie human wants to make a tax-deductible donation in Sandy’s name a personalize condolence postagram will be mailed to her family. These postagrams are great keepsake and better than flowers or a casserole (I assert). When our doxies pass, all we have are our memories and pictures. With your help Sandy’s family can have a few more pictures of their darling doxie. My only request, in order to make it cost efficient for the charity, please ensure your donation is $10 or more. Thank you. May Sandy rest in peace, and peace be with her surviving family.
Such sad news today regarding Sandy. There is nothing more heartbreaking than to lose a Doxie. They have such personality that they cannot help but be loved and they love back. Please extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family. PJ and Oscar will miss their playmate and friend. Suzanne Bergemann
My sincere condolences to Sandy’s family and pack mates, Oscar and PJ. It is never easy to lose our “fur babies”, they do leave their little paw prints on our hearts forever. Run free at the Bridge sweet Sandy. My thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. xo Joy
