Today is my 692nd daily post, and I’m telling you that random fact because sometimes I struggle with what I want to showcase each day. Every now and then when I’m at a lost with what to share I’ll go back one year. For example, I was reviewing my catalog of photos and revisited our November 2012 entry featuring Bella Blu. Do you remember her?! She was this adorable black and tan dapple doxie that needed to be re-homed, and her human reached out to me for help. With some assistance SCDR, Bella Blu was successfully placed. Although her new family never got in touch with us, we’d like to believe nearly a year later she is living happily ever after. We choose to believe no news is good news. Bella Blu was in our lives only for a very short window of time, but we luckily have our priceless pictures so she’ll never be forgotten. Looking back through the years at my personal library of dachshund photos it is humbling to imagine how many different dachshunds I have had the privilege to know and enjoy. Bella Blu we love you wherever you are, and hope your life is better than ever. Have a wonderful doxie day friends.

*** Bella Blu is barking at me to throw the ball. She loved to play fetch! ***

Blu is a beautiful Doxie. Love the ear thang and the tucked under lips. I thought that Doxies were supposed to have ears that were retractable. I have always had doxies so I can safely say I am “almost an ear expert”. Little children seem to also think that ears must be returned to the factory installed position. My then two year old grandson felt that he needed to place my Gretchen’s flipped up ear in the factory in-stalled position. He had never seen Gretchen but right away he had to replace the ear. Because she is so small compared to his Aunties Mastiff he felt that Gretchen was a puppy! He shared his yogurt with myself and Gretchen. He covered Gretchen up when she took a nap. He did all of the caring things that his Mommy did for him. He even stooped way down the way that only little kids can do and talked to her, accepted her kisses. When we Skype he asks to see Gretchen and if her ear is up he always tells me to fix it.
