Sundays are best spent sunbathing or at least that’s how my doxies prefer to pass the time. To be completely honest, my two are happy to soak up the sun any and every day. How about yours?! I believe it’s truly a doxie trait – sun worshipping.

I adopted a rescue Doxie this past April. She has severely deformed front feet. They point outward. She takes medication. But I noticed she loves to lay outside on the hot sidewalk. I think this makes her feel better in the sun and heat.
I thought that it is a Federal Requirement for Doxies to sun bathe! Every Doxie that I have had always naps in the sun. I think that I am ever so funny when I call them a “hot dog”. I officially tested this “solar absorbing behavior” myself and found it to be both soothing and relaxing. In fact if this is done with a Doxie of your choice right next to you the both of you most always fall asleep.
Has anyone else noticed that upon awakening their Doxie has that “just woke up” look about them? Gretchen has her ears out of place and half of her face mushed together. She also has to complete an entire stretching/yoga thing before she even considers going outside each morning.

Love to see Rufus and Emily laying in the sun!!
