One might think a sleeping doxie is boring and uneventful, but humans of dachshunds know different. Watching a sleeping doxie is like food for the soul. To see a normally active doxie pause and rest, allows us to see their beauty in its entirety – something we can fail to fully appreciate until they’re still and quiet.

Ohhhh….so peaceful…i do the same when Polie and Leo are sleeping. I wonder what they are dreaming of?? chasing a squirrel…….tricking mommy on getting a treat…..playing with a friend……walking around the neighborhood…..and barking at that flat face dog!!

When my puppies sleep I just thank the lord for the blessings of these two sweet souls of my own. I think Bertie would love Rufus’ spot with the direct sunlight. My house doesn’t have a window with direct sunlight and I’ve caught her laying on the lawn just loving the sun.
I swear my doxie, Grace, can taste the aroma around my mouth after I’ve eaten soeithmng! There is no food on my mouth, but she has a ball tasting it, although no traces remain. Once I have finished eating my meal, she is free to pick up any traces of food that have fallen on my lap or chest, and believe me, she knows the rules!
They are definitely among some of the most intelligent dogs I know. Thanks for postings.
