Emily’s first night was a dream. It could haven’t gone any more smoothly if I written the script. She has certainly stolen our hearts. Most notable, she has gone pee and poop outside each and every time we take her out. No accidents in the house as of yet and that’s surely impressive.

Skipper is a 4-year old, very unusual dapple coloring smooth doxie. His disposition is sweet and very needy. He wants to be with his person all the time or he cries. He would not do well in a home where he would be left alone for long hours. He would be fine as an only dog. He is a real lap dog and very affectionate. Today we took possession of an 8-week old black and tan puppy from our local rescue (Dachshund Rescue and Placement). Out of the three available puppies, this doxie’s sweet disposition complemented Rufus’ best. The pup is a foster with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent member of our family, if she ends up being a match for Rufus. Stay tuned for future pictures and updates.

Grizz and Rufus became fast friends after spending one week together. Grizz is a super sweet female doxie, and reminds me of a Jim Henson muppet. These photos were taken with a film camera.
