The basic premise of día de los muertos (day of the dead) is that as long as we remember them, they will live on in our hearts and minds. Which is why, each year we designate a few days to celebrate the lives and memories of the dead. ❤ ❤ ❤

This year día de lost muertos is from Wednesday, Oct. 31 through Friday, Nov. 2. In honor of that Mexican tradition, we want to remember all of our dachshund friends that are gone. Generally speaking, we often find our favorite picture and put it out on display, share our sweetest stories of our beloved and put out their most-liked treats. ❤ ❤ ❤

As I mentioned in an earlier post this week, I’ve photographer over 500+ different dachshunds across 14 years and have millions of digital negatives. So naturally, there are some friends (too many by my count) that I’ve photographed and are now at the Rainbow Bridge. They are no longer here with us on this physical plane, but their indelible paw prints on our hearts are forever.

Today’s post honors them and the many more not seen here. The only crime a dog commits, I believe, is they often leave us too soon. ❤ ❤ ❤
